About Kerb

Kerb is a vehicle history intelligence service that provides plain English interpretation of publicly available MOT and vehicle data. By using Kerb you agree to these terms.

What Kerb provides

Kerb retrieves and interprets vehicle data from official UK government sources including the DVSA and DVLA, and from third-party provenance databases including write-off and stolen vehicle records. Our AI provides plain English summaries to help you understand vehicle history. All data is sourced from official government APIs and recognised databases and is accurate at the time of retrieval.

Limitations of our service

Kerb reports are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, legal, or mechanical advice. A Kerb report must not be the sole basis for any purchase decision.

Kerb reports do not cover, and make no representations about:

• —Outstanding finance or hire-purchase agreements not registered on a recognised finance database
• —Insurance write-off or salvage category beyond records held on the MIAFTR database
• —Stolen vehicle status beyond records held on the Police National Computer (PNC)
• —VIN or chassis plate verification
• —Private service history or dealer records not submitted to the DVSA
• —Accident damage not reported to an insurer or not resulting in an insurance write-off
• —Vehicle modifications, aftermarket parts, or cosmetic condition
• —Physical or mechanical condition of the vehicle

Vehicle data reflects records held by the DVSA, DVLA, and third-party provenance databases at the time of the search. We cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of those records.

Reliance and due diligence

You remain responsible for your own due diligence before purchasing any vehicle. Kerb is one tool in that process, not a substitute for it. We strongly recommend:

• —A physical inspection by a qualified independent mechanic
• —A full provenance check from a recognised provider (such as HPI Check or Experian AutoCheck) before completing any purchase
• —Verification of ownership documents (V5C logbook)

A Kerb report showing a Good rating does not guarantee the vehicle is free of outstanding finance, write-off history, or stolen status beyond the records we are able to access.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to the above, Kerb's total liability to you in connection with any report or use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the specific report or check that gives rise to the claim (or, for free checks, zero).

We are not liable for any loss arising from risks we have clearly stated are outside the scope of our data sources — including outstanding finance, write-off, or stolen status not recorded on the databases we access, or from physical defects not visible in DVSA/DVLA records.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• —Use automated tools to scrape or bulk query the service
• —Attempt to circumvent usage limits
• —Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• —Resell or redistribute our reports without permission

Free and paid accounts

Free accounts are limited to 2 checks per calendar month. We reserve the right to change pricing and limits with reasonable notice. Anonymous users are limited to 1 free check.

Billing and payments

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month unless cancelled beforehand. Check packs are a one-off payment and credits never expire.

If a payment fails, we will retry automatically. Continued failure may result in your account being downgraded to the free tier. We do not offer refunds on subscription fees for partial months, but you will retain access until the end of your current billing period after cancellation.

Intellectual property

The Kerb platform, branding, and AI-generated report content are owned by Kerb. Vehicle data is sourced from UK government APIs and remains the property of the respective government bodies. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page. If you need assistance, contact us at [email protected].

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
