Windscreen washer not working
How it can appear on an MOT certificate
- “Windscreen washer does not operate adequately”
- “Washer provides insufficient liquid”
What it is
The windscreen washer sprays fluid onto the glass so the wipers can clear dirt and spray.
Why it matters
Without working washers, a dirty screen can quickly become impossible to see through, especially in winter. Often it's just an empty reservoir or blocked jet.
What to check when viewing a car
Operate the washers and check both jets spray onto the screen.
